Tom Brady just became the last of the New England Patriots Pro Bowl participant to withdraw from the game joining receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Brady is taking the time to recover from a rib injury he sustained earlier in the season, He will be replaced by Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub.
College Basketball News
The University of Connecticut team coach Chief has taken immediate leave of absence. Coach Jim Calhoun will take a medical leave after his doctor called it should follow a routine checkup. Over the years, Calhoun rejected the prostate and skin cancer three times and immediately returned to coach the Huskies once he was in better condition. The reasons are still unknown but the university said he is not bound to its terms earlier. The Huskies are 11-6 overall and 2-3 in the Big East they will host St. John's tonight in Hartford as an assistant coach George Blaney takes over the team until the return of Calhoun.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal became only the 5th person in NBA history to score 28,000 career points last night at a victory over the Toronto Raptors. O'Neal is only behind Hall of Fame, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in total points marked. After the game O'Neal said he would raise money for victims of Haiti having the greatest names in basketball join the dunk contest to help raise funds. Some players think it would help raise a lot of money if they decide to participate would Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and Vince Carter.
The Milwaukee Bucks hope the addition of shooting guard Jerry Stackhouse will return to the on track. The Bucks began the season strong behind rookie Guard Brandon Jennings, but since they tried to stay in the race for a spot Conference East playoffs.

Twice winner of the Selke trophy and Olympic gold medalist Michael Peca has announced his retirement from the NHL after 13 great seasons. Peca last played with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2008-09 season and has received offers to play this year, but none that really motivated to return. Peca plans on enjoying living in Buffalo with his family while the hockey team his son coaches

After having survived almost losing his colon due to diverticulitis, UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will make his return this summer. From Lesnar is now scheduled for fight against the winner of the March 27th fight between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. If the winner of this fight is not available Lesnar will fight the winner of Antonio Nogueira and Cain Velasquez on February 21.
