Once a trading post in the 1800s, things to do in Dallas are very varied and interesting. Dallas is not only the Texas oil center, but is full of many cultural and historical places. Dallas Zoo: This is one of the oldest zoos in the nation! It has been around since 1800 and has a large screen of mammals and reptiles and over 300 species of birds. The more than 100 acres is set up to simulate the natural habitat of each species, as much as possible.
Dallas Museum of Art: The Art Museum has a wonderful collection of American artists and works of art in Europe and Asia. Took note of the Ten Treasures, but also shows the collections of other museums and individuals.
Dallas Arboretum: The Arboretum is 60 acres of this impressive with its thousands and thousands of plant species was recently named "Top 10 Best Public Gardens" by Southern Living Magazine. A trip here will leave you spellbound.
White Rock Lake: This is another view that could easily occupy an entire day. There nine miles of road surrounding the lake and is home to waterfalls and wonderful scenery. You can fish, hike, hunting, camping and horseback riding, including here and rent a boat and get into the lake is a worthwhile experience.
Plaza of the Americas: One is the purchase at its best! The Plaza is home to hundreds of stores, many wonderful restaurants and world famous Le Meridien Hotel, where you can take a look at the many famous visitors in the region. A nearby park is still home to a ice skating rink!
Reunion Tower: Often compared to the Sears Tower, this wonder of Dallas is a wonderful addition to the skyline of last twenty years. The dome itself is worth the visit and is brightly lit at night and can be seen for miles. It's a wonderful trip to enjoy.
Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art: One of the few museums of Asian art in the country, this museum has thousands and thousands of paintings, sculptures and sizes that can not be seen anywhere else. This is definitely an attraction to visit when in Dallas.
The Old Red Court: Listed on the Register of Places Historical City of Dallas Landmark and a Historic Landmark Texas recorded, this courthouse was built in the 1800s and is located in the Dallas County Historical Plaza. Its design recalls the Romanesque revival period. Free tours available.
Ice Skating Center at the Gallery: No indoor ice skating centers located in many shopping centers, but is in the Dallas Galleria Mall is a great place to come and have fun. Whether in summer or winter you can bring the kids and enjoy a day on the ice.
