Well, look at this from a different perspective.
Although a four wheel driving vehicle has better traction because of the extra axles, in slippery conditions, although they have 4 sets of brakes on their vehicles, even as a regular passenger vehicle. So the fact that they have more traction does not mean they can better traction and stopping in slippery conditions faster than an ordinary vehicle. Yes, because 4 discs wheels are generally heavier than ordinary vehicles, helping to give them added traction than other vehicles do not. However, when a person thinks they can stop any faster in slippery conditions they are wrong.
In reality it has all the opposite effect due to centrifugal force. The stock added weight to higher speeds is more difficult to stop because the weight of the vehicle which drives forward with more force than a light vehicle. They are so safe driving is determined not by the vehicle that one drives, but by the driving habits of the person driving the vehicle.
The best way to drive in slippery conditions, is to slow down considerably and remain well behind any vehicle ahead. Be prepared to stop before reaching a stop signal. If these things are put into practice, you have a much better chance to go home the next time you head in these conditions.
