What is the correct length and diameter of the barrel of a shotgun (double barrel) for quail hunting?
I use a 20 gauge. O / U with 26 "barrels of quail most of the time. I have a 12.ga O / U and a type 16. S / S, both with 26" barrels that work fine too. Any shotgun with a relatively open choke that can shoot well it should work fine. On 16 drowned IC / Mod On 12 and 20 have interchangeable chokes, so I use a Skeet and IC. Hunting dogs their shots so close you do not need a real tight choke. Good luck hunting.
