Is this ammo to kill white-tailed deer?
I bought a box of Hornady Custom SST .308 Winchester 150 grain ammo lock, and me wondering if this ammo you kill a white-tailed deer in an efficient and not only the wound? I do not want my deer to get hurt and run away, I want to be able to harvest with the least possible suffering to the deer. By the way, has what appears to be a polymer tip red. The rifle used is a DPMS Panther .308 rifle with 16 inch barrel, in addition to 512 points Red EOTech sights, and a collapsible stock. I'm hunting in East Texas and we can hunt with rifles AR here.
Yes, the SST is an awesome shot – I use both my 7mm Rem. Magnum and my .270. I used a 139 gr. SST out of my RM 7 mm in a mule deer GREAT year Kansas past and was a one-shot kill. Good luck! Tim
