Journey Kal Bishop's 188 stage Hero's (monomyth) is the model on which the vast majority of successful examples and blockbusters Hollywood is founded. In fact, all the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on the stage of 188 + pattern.
Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters. This is the template you must master if you want to succeed in business.
[The terminology is most often metaphoric and applies to all successful stories and screenplays, of The Godfather (1972), Brokeback Mountain (2006) to Annie Hall (1977) Lord of the Rings (2003) to Drugstore Cowboy (1989) to Thelma and Louise (1991) Apocaplyse Now (1979)].

OLD SELF, NEW SELF, master of two SELVES
There are three main stages of evolution (roughly mirroring structure in three acts)
Initially, the hero is a motor or old. The hero is pushed to his (or her) Ordinary World into a new world.
Once in the New World, the hero is transformed into a new car and becomes de facto and de jure member of the New World. While the hero is pushed out of the New World and new.
Finally, the hero is forced to confront challenges that were invincible as the old man. They are overcome and the hero becomes the master of both worlds and Selves.
It is important to note  that the "new self" and "Master of Two SelvesÂ" are two separate and distinct stages of evolution. For example, in Annie Hall (1977), Annie like an old man is shy and embarrassed. As a new car, she lives with Alvie and become confident and depends Alvie. But as the Master of Two Worlds Selves and she decides to live without Alvie. There are three separate and distinct phases.

It is not unusual for the hero in the sense that the aid is Supernatural stranger in his (or her) ordinary world.
On The Fly (1986), Veronica sense that Seth does not go out much.
In Annie Hall (1977), Alvie is a Abroad in Annie's apartment.
In Casablanca (1943), Victor is a stranger in the bar Rick.

This is a place of allies and enemies. In the absence of new characters are met, the problem becomes that create greater friendship or animosity. In Brokeback Mountain (2005), Ennis and Jack become friends through the act of hunting.
